For Patients

Welcome to Woodland Clinic

We’re glad you selected Woodland Clinic. Our physicians are dedicated to providing you with high quality, compassionate medical care tailored to your personal needs. We are here to serve you.

Below is useful information designed to help introduce you to Woodland Clinic:

  • Selecting a Primary Care Physician

Your Primary Care Physician is your personal physician. He or she is responsible for coordinating all your healthcare needs. It is important to establish a relationship with your Primary Care Physician as soon as possible by making your first appointment within three months of becoming eligible for care. If you have questions, or need assistance in selecting a Primary Care Physician, please call us at 530.668.2600 or use the Search feature at top left of any page of our web site to view all Woodland Clinic physicians or search by physician name, location and/or specialty.

  • Scheduling Appointments

To schedule a medical appointment, call 530.668-2600. Our centralized appointment call center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For your convenience, you may schedule, reschedule or cancel an appointment in any of our doctors’ offices with one phone call.

  • Emergency Care

An emergency situation is defined as a sudden illness or injury requiring immediate medical intervention. If you feel you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital. Woodland Clinic’s Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is located at 1325 Cottonwood Street, Woodland, CA.

  • Same-Day care

Same-Day Primary Care appointments are available by calling 530.668-2600. Whenever possible, we’ll work with you to find a same-day appointment with your primary care doctor.

  • Extended Hours/Walk-in Care

After work, after school and on weekends, doctors are available for non-emergency care on a walk-in basis. See “Medical Office Locations & Hours” for evening and weekend hours.

If you experience a non-life threatening need after office hours, dial the physician on call at 530.668-2600. Please do not seek medical care for non-life threatening needs outside of Woodland Clinic without receiving prior authorization or you may be financially responsible for the services.

  • Referrals to Specialists

If your doctor determines that you need specialty care, you will be referred to a Woodland Clinic specialist. Services not available within Woodland Clinic require prior authorization through the Utilization Management (UM) Department. Your doctor’s office will coordinate this authorization process. If you have questions regarding the authorization process or status of a referral, you may call the UM Department at 530.662.3961, ext. 4361 Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. After hours, you may leave a voicemail and staff will respond the next business day.

Authorization decisions are based on your insurance benefit and whether services requested are medically appropriate and do not result in financial compensation for staff involved in the decisions.

  • Hospitalization

If you are seriously ill and require hospitalization, Woodland Clinic physicians admit patients to Woodland Memorial Hospital, 1325 Cottonwood Street, Woodland. Woodland Clinic is a member of Catholic Healthcare West and patients who require additional care have access to outstanding programs offered at the Mercy hospitals located in Sacramento.
